Adrian Furner – Founder & Managing Director
Adrian has over 25 years’ experience in the design, implementation, and delivery of complex commercial transactions through novel business models. Kommercialize has brought together this deep practitioner experience with Adrian’s passion for commercial excellence and innovation. He has worked in a variety of sectors including defence and security, aviation, finance, and technology management.
Prior to founding Kommercialize, Adrian was Commercial Director for BAE Systems Strategic Capability Solutions (SCS), leading the commercial, procurement, supply chain and business management teams, where he was instrumental in creating BAE Systems’ approach to open innovation. Adrian has a proven track record of establishing business models underpinned by robust yet adaptive relationships to deliver maximum returns for all participants.
Before joining SCS Adrian held various commercial, procurement and supply chain roles in BAE Systems. These roles saw him involved in the contract signing with the Chilean Navy for the fully financed reactivation of three Royal Navy Type 23 frigates; managing relationships with various joint ventures and consortia based bid teams; as well as developing a relationship with BBC Worldwide and BBC Technology investigating the opportunities to exploit e-learning opportunities in the defence marketplace.
Adrian also spent nine years with BAE Systems Asset Management, responsible for managing a fleet of over 500 commercial aircraft for this major player in the regional aircraft leasing and brokerage market.
Adrian is a member of both the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), and the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) where he is a former member elected board member and an honorary fellow. He has a BEng from the University of Nottingham, and has also completed the London Business School Corporate Finance Programme along with executive education programmes at both Wharton Business School and Oxford Saïd Business School.
Adrian is a regular contributor and speaker on topics such as “Commercial Agility – the role of risk in creating adaptive agility”, “Collaboration in order to exploit the opportunities of co-developing with suppliers to achieve true innovation” and “Commercial Innovation and Agility”.
Ian Rogers – Consultant
Ian has over 25 years’ experience across the aerospace industry, motor manufacturing, chemicals, simulation, aircraft finance and biotechnology with expertise in business development and marketing. He has significant experience of both opening opportunities, and deal structuring for complex, high-value opportunities. He has successfully been involved in identifying new markets for existing products and services, and the adaptation of existing services into new markets.
Having held senior market development roles in a number of FTSE100 organisations, Ian has an international outlook and has considerable experience in the field of offset and industrial investment.
Ian’s practitioner based experience enables him to take a client centric, consultative approach to market development. By identifying the key value points for the client and linking them to the offering he is able to help clients develop strong routes to market. Marrying this up with Ian’s proven capabilities to develop and foster strong relationships he is able to then drive implementation.
In addition, Ian has experience in change management and business improvement where he provides a particular focus on the cultural and behavioural aspects of change. Ian’s workshops are compelling, engaging, and focused on outcomes which can be exploited back in the workplace.
Ian holds an MBA from Henley Management College where he specialised in Corporate Finance and cultures (national and management). He is also a Prince2 Practitioner.
